El Rose Award es un premio que se concede entre compañeros y que se centra en la excelencia en el servicio. Se otorga un premio Rose de forma mensual, en todo el sistema. Ofrece una oportunidad para destacar a los empleados que demuestran los valores de la organización, que abarcan todos los puestos. Como parte del proceso de votación, se realiza una revisión cuidadosa de cada nominación y se seleccionan las historias de los miembros del equipo que se destacan por superar las expectativas de su función laboral y dejan una huella significativa en los pacientes, los colegas y la comunidad. 

The Rose Award recipient for May 2026 is Sandra Reyes Sanchez of Medical Oncology.

Sandra had a patient who was struggling with insurance issues and was concerned about the financial burden of treatment. The patient had been cancelling appointments and treatments out of fear that medical bills would pile up. This was care that the patient desperately needed.  

Sandra took it upon herself to call the insurance company to determine whether the patient truly lacked coverage. When that didn't work, she collaborated with our site social worker, Peter Wold, to help sort things out.  

It turned out the patient simply needed to submit a document to our financial department, which she believed had already been received. Once the document was submitted, the financial department was able to secure hospital financial assistance for the patient while insurance issues were being resolved. As a result, the patient was able to receive treatment that same day.  

The patient and family were so thankful for the drive Sandra had to help the patient get the care they needed.
